Spider lake church Leadership and staff
Spider lake church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Pastor Gary Hilgendorf
Senior Pastor
Pastor Gary Hilgendorf and his wife Michelle have been @ Spider Lake Church since December of 2005. Pastor Gary has been instrumental in bringing God's word and a passion for the community from the beginning.
From the time they arrived to this 2024 they have seen the Lord work in amazing and powerful ways, and the church has grown its members and influence in the community in ways they had prayed for for many years.
From its small beginnings to what is here today, the Spider Lake Church has grown to having three campuses where many ministries are functioning, impacting the community and serving as a conduit for other churches and members of the community to join an participate in blessing and helping the community, impacting many areas of Hayward and beyond.
Pastor Gary loves to fish, hunt, go on bike rides, garden, and spend time with his family. His passion is to see the Hayward community and Sawyer County impacted with the power of God's presence and the message of the Gospel, a message full of hope and freedom, forgiveness and transformation!
Pastor David Teran
Associate/Campus/Worship Pastor
Pastor David and his family were called to serve with the Spider Lake Church the summer of 2016. Pastor David and his family had been missionaries in Mexico and had many connections with people and churches in the Hayward area. When Spider Lake Church was entering a new season of growth and expansion, as God gave Pastor Gary and the board a vision to expand their youth group, start a Saturday evening service in their new location and bring in someone who could lead worship in a contemporary style, their name came up during a conversation with a brother who greatly has been supporting the church and who is related to them. The same day David was praying for direction, this meeting between Gary and Ron Parr was happening, and that afternoon Pastor Gary gave Pastor David a call and through prayer, communication, and God's provision, God called them to come to Hayward and become an Associate/Youth Pastor.
Many events have happened since then, and ministry has looked different at various times, but right now Pastor David serves as a campus Pastor, leading the contemporary service at the Main Street Campus @ 9am.
Music, movies, mini-golf, coffee, bad dad jokes and board games are his hobbies.
Teaching God's word, studying apologetics and meeting with people one on one for counseling is also his passion.
Spending time with family is a priority, and he cherishes every chance he gets with them
He has 4 children, 3 of them graduated and one left in the nest!!!
